​2025 felt like a reset year for sustainability: big commitments got quietly scaled back, “ESG” became a loaded shorthand, and there was more candid acknowledgement of what isn’t working- when measurement was reported at a record high but only 2% of firms demonstrated environmental leadership. At the same time, priorities are shifting: resilience, energy security, industrial policy, and defence are moving from edge cases to mainstream investment narratives.
