Technical Visit – Port of Santos

Discover Latin America’s largest port

April 17, 2026 | Santos, Brazil

On April 17, the Port of Santos will open its doors to welcome international delegations and guests attending Intermodal South America for an exclusive technical visit to Latin America’s largest port.

This initiative offers a unique opportunity for international professionals to experience firsthand the operations, infrastructure, and strategic importance of the Port of Santos within global maritime trade.

The visit is organized by IAPORTS – International Association of Port Development, in partnership with the Santos Port Authority (APS) and the Associação Comercial de Santos (ACS) — both members of IAPORTS.

IAPORTS works to connect the Latin American port sector with the world by fostering international collaboration, competitiveness, and leadership development in the port industry.

Who Can Participate

Participation in this visit is reserved for:

  • International guests attending Intermodal South America

  • Official international delegations visiting Intermodal

  • Members of IAPORTS

Due to operational constraints, participation is limited to capacity.

Why Participate

About the Port of Santos

The Port of Santos is the largest port complex in Latin America and the main gateway for Brazil’s international trade.
Handling over 170 million tonnes of cargo annually, the port connects South America to major global shipping routes.
The complex includes more than 60 terminals handling containers, bulk commodities, vehicles, fuels, and general cargo.
Strategically located near São Paulo — the largest economic hub in the Southern Hemisphere — Santos is a key node in global maritime logistics.

Participants walk to Valongo Pier for an exclusive technical boat tour through the port channel, including views of key terminals and operations.

Return to ACS for final remarks, farewell networking, and official group photo.

Registration is complementary

Confirmations will be accepted until April 1, 2026 or until capacity is reached.

Due to the limited number of seats available for the boat visit, we kindly ask participants to confirm only if they are certain they will attend.

Additional seats will not be opened once capacity is reached.

Dress Code

Participants must follow operational safety guidelines for port visits:

  • Long pants, shirt with sleeves, comfortable flat closed-toe shoes

These requirements are important due to the boat visit and port operational safety.

Weather Conditions

The organizers reserve the right to cancel or adjust the technical visit if weather or operational conditions do not allow safe navigation.

This initiative is led by IAPORTS – International Association of Port Development, in partnership with the Santos Port Authority (APS) and the Associação Comercial de Santos (ACS). Both organizations are members of the IAPORTS international network, which works to promote collaboration, knowledge exchange, and leadership within the global port sector.
