SDCW: FIRE SUMMIT
We warmly invite local organizations, land stewards, Tribal Communities, cultural knowledge bearers, elders, artists, performers, educators, climate leaders and youth to participate in the San Diego Climate Week Fire Summit, a gathering focused on sharing and exploring our relationships with fire -- through collaboration, education, and collective action.
The Fire Summit brings together the visionaries, emergency responders, scientists, Indigenous knowledge holders, community leaders, climate policy experts, and environmental practitioners working to create a safer, more informed and fire-resilient San Diego region. Together, we will explore the diverse relationships that our communities have with fire. We'll endeavor to transform collective action on wildfire preparedness, through ecological resilience, cultural burning, community engagement, and creating unified solutions for our communities to thrive in our diverse region.
Expect inclusive conversations related to fire stewardship, fire ecology, local biodiversity, climate adaptation, Traditional Ecological Knowledge, good fire and the importance of collaboration.
6:00 - 7:00 PM: Partner Showcase, Wellness Sessions & Refreshments
7:00 - 7:30 PM: Short Fire Films Screening
7:30 - 8:30 PM: Opening Remarks and “Fire-side" Panel: Strengthening Our Fire Network
8:30 - 9:30 PM: Arts Performance then Community Connections Rooftop Mixer
San Diego Climate Week will be providing snacks.
