About Event

After a long winter, join us in reconnecting with land in a guided community visioning through art and meditation at Temperance Alley Sanctuary. As climate change continues to impact our urban environments, this collective visioning allows us to time travel and reimagine a joyful ecological future in DC. We’ll start by walking through the existing nature and history of the land at the Sanctuary, have a time-traveling meditation session, and create art from our visions to help us create a deeper relationship with the land and guide our restoration actions for the season.

The Temperance Sanctuary is an extension of the Temperance Alley Garden – a place to quiet down, to observe, and to cultivate reciprocity between ourselves and the land. Come join us in the visioning and stewardship of Temperance Sanctuary: as a time capsule of Indigenous history and stewardship, native food/micro forest to bring back native biodiversity, and an ecological classroom to foster and practice our stewardship in community. If you’re interested in any of these topics, we welcome you to join us in its design and execution!
