Adam and Adamah - Sacred Land, Sacred Purpose
In the beginning was Adamah, the Earth. Before Adam and Eve ever turned to face one another, G*d created the Garden of Eden. So who are we, to decide what parcels of land are "sacred?" The Hebrew word for sacred, kadisha, refers to something set aside, apart from from secular life. What do our source texts teach us about setting land apart from our secular lives, and for what purpose? In this session we will explore these questions and more about the sacred relationship between Adamah (Earth) and Adam (Earthling).
