About Event

It only takes a walk through the streets of Portugal to realize that tiles are part of the national identity. Therefore, their history is also the history of Portugal. At the National Tile Museum, you can explore five centuries through a unique collection that unveils this distinct artistic expression of Portuguese culture.

The visit wouldn't be complete without getting your hands dirty! In the tile workshop, which lasts about an hour, each visitor will paint a tile, following the traditional majolica technique. After the tiles are fired in the museum's kiln (and 48 hours later), you can take them home — a memento of Lisbon.
