Building a Community That Attracts Sponsorships
Casual Q&A for community builders who want to learn how to use LinkedIn to grow their audience and land sponsorships. Keeping it to 10-15 people, seated in a semi-circle to facilitate conversation.
Who this is for: Community builders who have (or are open to building) a LinkedIn presence looking to land brand sponsorships/partnerships.
Quick background on me:
Built a ~55k LinkedIn audience as a product designer
Used it to launch Designer Friends, which hit 900 members in a year and became the largest senior designer community in NYC
Landed over $50k in cash sponsorships and $30k in in-kind support
Sold $15k+ in tickets across intimate dinners and large-scale 100-230 person events with after-parties
Worked with brands like Figma, Framer, Ramp, Etsy, Miro, Mobbin, Magic Patterns, and Optimal
Donated $10k to orgs like The Trevor Project, Planned Parenthood, The Inneract Project, AIGA, Documenting Detroit, and Game Devs of Color, and helped fund the first events for Asian Women in Design Leadership
