About Event

For an immersive look at one of Amsterdam's most quietly radical pieces of climate infrastructure, join us for a one-hour guided tour the day before KFF26 kicks off — a chance to see what scaling planetary regeneration actually looks like at the source.

Tuesday May 26 · 14:00–15:00 Bubble Barrier Amsterdam, Westerdoksplein 10, 1013 BH Amsterdam

Plastic flows into our oceans through rivers, and in 2019, Amsterdam became home to the world's first long-term system designed to stop it at the source. The Bubble Barrier Amsterdam has now intercepted over one million pieces of plastic from the Westerdok canal, using a curtain of bubbles that catches waste while letting fish and boats pass through unhindered.

During the tour, you'll see the technology up close, hear directly from the team about what it took to move from prototype to four operational systems across the Netherlands and Portugal, and dig into what scaling this kind of solution actually requires, policy, financing, waste infrastructure, and the local partnerships that make or break deployment.

This is a perfect pre-festival anchor for anyone arriving early for Investor Day on May 27 and the festival at Ruigoord on May 28–29. Come for the engineering, stay for the conversation about what it takes to move impact from pilot to planetary scale.

YOUR EXPERIENCE INCLUDES (Free)
