Renegade Philosophers : FREE SPEECH [public]

​Everyone has already heard about this topic. There is not much I can personally say about it that has not already been said.

​This incredible speech by Christopher Hitchens more or less describes what it is that I believe :

​For the mega super nerds out there, you can also consult the classic On Liberty by John Stuart Mill.

​Because of the above, I would not typically use this as a topic. However, given some recent events you can probably think of, it behooves us to discuss it. I am of the opinion that, despite the obvious, it is our duty as citizens and thinking persons to discuss and revisit this topic periodically. This is especially the case when contemporary cultural, political, or financial institutions become hostile to speech. I will not do that.

​As part of the event, I'm encouraging all of you to, in the days prior to the event, engage in lawful acts of public speech on whatever cause you find important. I'm looking forward to hearing about what your experience was.

​Also, just an unrelated heads up; there will be a no kings protest in SF on the same day!
