


In Search Of Hope-Full Futures: Fresh Climate Imaginations Through Games, Fiction & Dialogue
Through interactive experience and cross-disciplinary dialogue, the event aims to take the audience / Asia ecosystem players to an imaginative journey into future, bring new perspectives to look beyond our predominant techno-apocalyptic climate narratives, to open up to wider and more possibilities in the futures for Asia, providing prompts for reflection and a new sense of hope.
The event includes two modules:
Module 1 - Panel: Fiction, Imagination & Climate Agency (Online and Offline Participation Available)
This module features internationally renowned speculative fiction writer Stanley Chen Qiufan alongside a diverse array of panelists to exchange thoughts on their version of future and hope for Asia. Stanley Chen Qiufan will also share about his forthcoming novel Ocean Break - focusing on oceanic climate change and seabed mining exploitation, staged in an Asian island in 2047.

Module 2 - Game Workshop: Climate Dreams & Dynamic Disruptions (Offline Participation Only)
It will be an immersed imaginative journey based on future thinking board game Dreams and Disruptions (developed by Shermon Cruz). The audience will co-create alternative futures unraveling in Asian islands & oceans, with climate and various social-technology drivers inspired by Stanley’s novels.
