Let's Talk #6: Can Colleagues Be Friends?
💬 When was the last time a conversation actually changed how you think?
Think about it. You’re in the middle of a conversation—maybe at dinner with friends or maybe after class with classmates. You hear something you don’t fully agree with. For a second, you pause… but instead of immediately agreeing, you start building your response.
Most people don’t change their minds. They just get better at defending what they already believe.
It shows up in the places you spend the most time… like work. At work you spend hours every week with the same people. You share stress, deadlines, sometimes even personal stuff.
But at some point, you wonder:
Are we actually friends… or just coworkers being friendly?
And for most people, that question just stays there—unchallenged.
So, we will discuss...
Can colleagues really be friends? 👀 For some people, they've never really thought about it, neither have they actually challenged their position on it.
✨What you’ll experience :
Real exchange of opinions (not polite nodding)
Conversations that dig deeper
Moments where your own thinking gets exposed
🧠 What you’ll get out of it :
If you engage (not just sit back), you leave with:
A clearer stance on work vs. friendship
Awareness of your own blind spots
Perspectives you won’t get from your current circle
✅ This event is for you if...
You’re tired of shallow conversations
You want to understand how you actually think
You’re open to being challenged (not just validated)

💭 How do I prepare?
If you come without thinking about it first, you’ll probably stay on the surface.
Before the event, take a few minutes to think about these:
Do I think colleagues can be real friends? Why?
Where did that idea come from?
Did something happen that made me think this way?
Is there something I’m avoiding in my opinion?

"Let’s Talk" is a monthly, in-person Creaba event in Tokyo for people between the ages of 18-35. In this event, we will have the kinds of conversations most people avoid. Each session focuses on one big question that people don’t always agree on. You’ll share your thoughts, hear others, and start to understand your own thinking more clearly. The goal isn’t to win, but to really understand what you think and why others see things differently.
