About Event

If you're building with IDEs and CLIs that have LLMs baked into them, come meet other folks doing the same. The whole idea is that it's more fun when you know the other people in and around Detroit working this way.

Cursor Detroit is an official Cursor community meetup for developers, builders, and those just exploring the edges. Whether you're using tools like Cursor to ship real projects or you're just curious enough to want to see what's actually possible right now, this is for you.

Show up. Meet the other builders in the area. Hear what's actually working, what's not, and what everyone's learning in real time.

Want to demo? Shipping product, half-finished experiment, doesn't matter. If you're pushing these tools, we want to see it. Reach out and we'll add you to the list.

The space was generously provided by Newlab. Pizza and coffee provided by Cursor. If the night turns into a laptops-open build session, Cursor offered to provide credits for that too.

Armand's DMs are open on Twitter/X @ap3co. Send a note anytime to get added to the speaker list, have an idea to share or even just a question.

Doors open at 6pm

Do I need to know how to use Cursor to attend? No. If you're curious about AI-native dev tools and want to see what people are doing with them, that's enough. Some people in the room will be deep in it. Some will be brand new. Both are welcome.

Is this a recruiting event or a sales pitch? No. This is a community meetup. You're going to meet other builders, hear what people are working on, and maybe demo something yourself. That's it.

Do I need to bring my laptop? Up to you. If the night turns into a build session, having it will be nice. But it's not required.

Is there parking at Michigan Central? Yes. There is free parking available on site.

How much does it cost? Free.

Do I need to be a developer to come? You don't need to write code for a living. If you're building things with these tools in any capacity, or want to start, you'll fit right in.

I want to demo something. How do I get on the list? Send a direct message to Armand @ap3co on Twitter/X. Doesn't matter if it's finished or not. If you're building with these tools, we want to see it.

Will there be food? Pizza and coffee (feel free to share suggestions of which local spot to support)

How long will this run? Doors open at 6pm. We'll get started at 6:30pm and will go until ~9pm

Will there be another one? That depends on this one.
