The People of the Kattawapiskak River - Film Screening and Panel

​As part of Montreal Climate Week 2026, the Intercollegiate Eco-Expo and the Dawson Student Union are hosting a free screening of The People of the Kattawapiskak River by legendary Abenaki filmmaker Alanis Obomsawin. The documentary documents the emergency housing crisis in Attawapiskat, Northern Ontario, uncovering how northern communities bear the brunt of environmental and policy failures.

​We'll host a casual Q&A and community conversation right after the film to talk about local environmental action, Indigenous rights, and where we go from here.
