Build the Next in SEA · Bali
Meet across borders. Build around real challenges.
What could you build for a more sustainable Southeast Asia—in one afternoon, with a new team and AI tools?
Build the Next in SEA brings together visiting Tsinghua x-lab teams and local founders, students, developers and creatives in Bali for a hands-on afternoon of exchange and co-creation.
Building on our June 30 Bali hackathon and recent workshop in Malaysia, we’re reconnecting the builder community and welcoming new collaborators. Together, we’ll explore local challenges, form cross-cultural teams and turn ideas into early prototypes.
What we’ll build
Start with a challenge that matters to the region: sustainable tourism, marine conservation, community waste reduction, clean energy—or another opportunity your team identifies.
Through an introduction to vibe coding and AI-assisted development, you’ll explore how AI tools can help turn an idea into a mockup or working prototype. Facilitators will support teams throughout the session.
By the end of the afternoon, each team will aim to share a clear problem, an early solution and a short demo. The goal is to create something tangible—and find people you want to keep building with.
