Composting Climate Emotions through Art

​Our range of climate emotions is vast -- anxiety about changing weather patterns, anger about government inaction, grief about biodiversity loss -- and it can feel lonely to navigate them alone. Come join us for an arts-based workshop -- guided by local art therapists and climate-aware therapists, who will create a safe holding space for expressing climate emotions and experience art making as a tool to engage and connect. By painting, ripping, drawing, and writing, participants can experience how to metabolize emotions through the creative process, revitalize a connection to others humans and the natural world, and ignite radical hope. No experience or skills required. Art is for everyone.

​*This is an art based workshop, not a therapy processing group. Come engage in art and community to learn how accessible art in action can be for you.

​Light refreshments will be served. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the West Oakland Environmental Indicators Project (www.woeip.org).

​Kruti Patel, LMFT, ATR draws on over 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist, art therapist and climate justice advocate.
