One Acre Fund Tech Night - Nairobi
One Acre Fund deploys technology across 9 African countries to serve 5.5 million smallholder farmers. Their tech team — 50+ engineers, product managers, data analysts, and DevOps professionals — builds systems that work at agricultural scale, in rural contexts, with real consequences for real livelihoods.
They've been quiet about it, and this event changes that.
We at Venture for Africa x Africa Product Peers are partnering with One Acre Fund to bring 30-45 of Nairobi's strongest tech professionals into the room with OAF's tech leadership — including their CTO.
It's going to be a curated, invitation-based evening where you'll hear directly from the people building technology for impact at One Acre Fund, connect with peers who are thinking about what AI means for their careers, and get on the radar of one of East Africa's most interesting tech employers.
What makes this different:
When you register, you'll complete a short AI fluency assessment (~20-30 minutes, audio-based) powered by VettedAI. This is your ticket.
We're using it to ensure the room is full of serious, high-calibre tech talent — not just people who clicked "attend." The assessment evaluates how you actually use AI in your work, not textbook knowledge.
The top performers get confirmed for the event.
Everyone who completes the assessment — whether or not they attend — gets added to One Acre Fund's active talent pipeline for current and upcoming roles.
What you'll get:
Direct access to One Acre Fund's tech leadership team and CTO
Insight into how OAF deploys technology for agricultural impact at scale
Networking with 30-45 curated tech professionals in the Nairobi ecosystem
Entry into OAF's talent pipeline for current roles (Principal PM, Data Analyst) and upcoming roles (Senior DevOps, QE, Graduate Programme)
A real assessment of your AI fluency — not a certificate, but genuine feedback on where you stand
Who should apply:
Software engineers, product managers, data analysts, DevOps engineers, QE professionals
3-5+ years of hands-on experience (junior profiles also welcome — OAF's graduate programme launches in 2027)
You use AI tools in your work — regularly, practically, not just experimentally
You're curious about what technology for social impact actually looks like at scale
The assessment:
After registering, you'll receive a link to complete your AI fluency assessment on VettedAI.
It's audio-based — you'll speak your answers to questions about your experience and your practical relationship with AI tools. ~20-30 minutes.
Complete it within 3 days of registering to be considered for the event.
