Models That Matter: Technical talks on building foundation models in life sciences — and why the UK is an ideal place to do it
Models That Matter is a closed-door evening for people actually building AI in biology.
The session brings together builders from leading London-based AI labs and companies working at the frontier of biological foundation models to share how they design, train, and use these models to advance life sciences — and why the UK is an increasingly strong place to do this work.
We’ll start with informal pizza, drinks, and networking, followed by short technical talks from builders deep in the work — what they built, why they made the choices they did, and what broke along the way. No panels, no pitches — just concrete lessons from teams building AI in real biological systems.
Confirmed speakers include builders from:
Relation Therapeutics
Prima Mente
Basecamp Research
Outpost Bio
The evening wraps with more time to connect, compare notes, and continue the conversation.
