A portion of all ticket sales for this event will go to support FEED THE STREETS, a non-profit that provides hot meals, clothing and hygiene products to people experiencing food insecurity and poverty.
Vera Amaya is a filmmaker whose work explores vulnerability, place, and perspective. With a background in architectural technologies and a strong connection to the natural world, she creates films that pay close attention to space, memory, and the structures both visible and unseen that shape our lives.
A graduate of SCI-Arc’s Fiction and Entertainment program, Vera brings an intuitive and hands on approach to storytelling. Her process blends analog and digital techniques, allowing room for discovery and imperfection. Her films have screened at festivals across the United States and internationally, earning recognition for their quiet clarity and layered narratives.
Her notable works include Tecata, an eight time award winner for Best Short Film including Worldfest Houston and the Los Angeles Film Festival; The Burning Plain, a DB Frieze Los Angeles Film Award recipient; and most recently, First Born, a 2025 Latine Film Festival selection. Her newest film, Almost, is set for release soon.
