AMOC: Envisioning a Resilient North
The collapse of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) would have catastrophic consequences for the Arctic region and the wider world. There is growing evidence that the possibilities for a collapse in the coming decades have been underestimated. Yet this threat is often missing from the climate risk assessments and management approaches taken by governments.
How can this be resolved and AMOC risk be better managed, ensuring a resilient North?
On Wednesday evening before the start of the Arctic Circle Assembly, this pre-conference event will bring together Nordic policymakers and interested parties with experts working on AMOC risk, climate tipping point governance, and climate interventions.
The opening remarks and the panel session of the event will be streamed online. Further details to come.
