Lab Tour @ Piab
Exclusive PIAB Lab Tour with KTHIS
KTH Industrial Society is proud to offer KTH students a rare chance to go behind the scenes at PIAB, a world-leading Swedish company in industrial vacuum and robotic gripping technology.
About PIAB
Founded in Sweden in 1951 and headquartered in Danderyd, PIAB is a global leader in vacuum automation and robotic handling — specializing in vacuum ejectors, suction cups, vacuum conveyors, and advanced robotic gripping systems. Their technology is the backbone of pick-and-place and material-handling operations across packaging, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, logistics, plastics, and automotive. With over 1,200 employees, a presence in more than 100 countries, and 65+ patented technologies, PIAB sits at the frontier of industrial automation and is today part of Patricia Industries (Investor AB).
For KTHIS, this visit is particularly relevant: vacuum gripping is central to modern robotic pick-and-place and directly adjacent to the work underway in our own robot cell project.
What to expect
Behind-the-scenes access to PIAB's lab and R&D environment
Direct conversations with PIAB engineers about the technology, the problems they're solving, and how vacuum and gripping innovation moves from prototype to product
A close-up look at world-leading vacuum and gripping technology in the environment where it's developed and tested
