Sun Valley Forum | Sunday Film Screenings
As part of the 2026 Sun Valley Forum, we are proud to host three special film screenings open to the public. These films are intended to inspire conversation, new perspectives, and deeper engagement around the ideas shaping a resilient future. We warmly invite you to join us for these evenings of storytelling and community connection in Sun Valley.
On Sunday, June 14th, "River of Return" will play from 5-6 pm, followed by "Oceania" from 6-8pm, with Q&As following each screening.
River of Return: "River of Return" is a love story with many facets. Like the river, it's an evolving love story for Jessica and Sammy Matsaw, Shoshone-Bannock and co-founders of River Newe. It's about the love between tribal leaders and their youth. And it's about the love they all share for the Salmon River. Follow Jessica and Sammy as they share their story about the power of hope and perseverance, resilience and resurgence, and the vitality of sharing these lands and waters with today's tribal youth and the generations to come. Followed by a Q&A.
Oceania: Oceania is a lyrical documentary that explores climate change over 8 years through the eyes of two characters in the remote Pacific island nation of Kiribati. Tekinati is deeply grounded in her indigenous culture and environment, despite generations of Western depredation. Now, as the climate changes, her adult son Charles tries to find a path into his future which becomes increasingly disrupted. Followed by a Q&A.
