Turtle Island Women in Tech Event
Presented by New Mexico Community Capital Resilience Hub and Glittering World Girl, this is an event bringing together prominent Indigenous women in tech from Canada and the US on August 11 & 12, 2026. We'll be covering technology fields ranging from AI, gaming, augmented reality, digital literacy and invention, with a strong emphasis in using technology for self-determination, economic stability, culture and language preservation, Indigenous futurism and Indigenous representation.
Day 1, August 11, 2026 is for community stakeholders, serious aspiring technologists and ecosystem builders. This day will be filled with special Workshop #1 by Even Realities, an AR smart glasses company headquartered in Shenzhen, China and special Workshop #2 by Dominique Ehrl, Product Marketing Manager at YouTube TV and by Engie Matene for creating a sovereign blockchain stack.
Day 2, August 12, 2026 is a broader schedule, designed to highlight keynote address by Carol Anne Hilton, MBA, ICD.D (Indigenomics), keynote fireside chats & panels featuring Bobbie Racette, Bernina Gray, Gaming Is Rezilience, Gura Gladue , Engie Matene, Henry Jake Foreman, Glittering World Girl and presentation by Even Realities, with a mini Indigenous Tech Expo!
We will have healthy food on deck, lunch on Day 1 by Itality: Plant-Based Foods, lunch by Bangkok Vegan & dinner by Itality: Plant-Based Foods on Day 2.
Special evening performances by Beauty Bright & STELLA STANDINGBEAR on Day 2!
