βWhat kinds of signals and conversations are happening around us, beyond what our human senses can perceive?
βIn this π³πΆπ²πΉπ±:π°π¨π«π€ workshop, artist Chok Si Xuan invites participants to explore the invisible ways that natural entities, electromagnetic forces, and technological devices communicate with one another.
βTracing histories of early radio transmission alongside the sensory capabilities of non-human entities, weβll consider how technology allows us to detect, interpret, and engage with phenomena that ordinarily escape our perception.
βThe session concludes with a hands-on exercise in building a primitive radio receiver, offering a way to experiment with these otherwise invisible signals.
βAbout the Artist
βChok Si Xuan is a Singaporean installation artist whose practice explores the relationships between natural environments, industrial materials, and technological systems. Working primarily through kinetic installations, she investigates tensions between the organic and machinic, material and immaterial, revealing the histories, economies, and structures of technology and labor embedded within them.
βWorkshops & Explorations is a monthly series within π³πΆπ²πΉπ±:π°π¨π«π€, inviting participants to experiment with different tools, materials, and approaches to art-making across media art and creative technology.
