𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳\𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦: a site-specific sound installation by Sarah Umles

​The Residency Project in Pasadena is pleased to present 𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳\𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 by TRP’s founding artist, Sarah Umles.

​​Umles premiered 𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳\𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 at the inaugural LA Climate Week exhibition “At the Intersections” in September 2024. Now introducing the work into two site-specific settings in Pasadena, Umles takes the sonic experience out of the gallery and into the outdoors. Visitors are encouraged to take in their built and natural surroundings, absorbing the sound of 𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳\𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 as it inevitably becomes layered with other ambient noises—trees, traffic, birds, helicopters, and so forth.
