Business & Nature Solutions: Real World Application (Suriname) - The Landbanking Group [Session 3 of 3]
Monkey Rock: A Species Corner for Nature at Climate Hub Davos is a temporary public art installation presented during World Economic Forum week in Davos.
============================================
As nature-related risks and opportunities move into the economic mainstream, there is an urgent need for a robust, scientifically grounded, and comparable metric to assess ecosystem condition. Ecosystem Integrity meets this need by providing a decision-grade framework to understand ecosystems as complex, interconnected systems.
At Species Corner, The Landbanking Group will make its UNEP-WCMC-aligned EII implementation available as open data and open source, with full documentation and code publicly accessible on GitHub. This launch will unfold across three curated sessions, each self-contained yet sequential, designed to build momentum toward practical application.
This third, and final, session of the series will demonstrate how ecosystem integrity data can be applied in real-world contexts, showing how biodiversity protection can move from aspiration to scalable, actionable decisions. We will discuss what Nature Stocks are, how they turn ecosystem integrity into investable assets (an alternative to offsets and compensation), and a live, remote discussion with stakeholders in Suriname to spotlight the work of Earthly Treasure in Suriname: on-the-ground work protecting 253,000 ha of primary rainforest by strengthening traditional governance and creating sustainable livelihoods in one of the world’s most intact forest regions!
