This time around CharmCityJS has lined up three amazing talks for your entertainment...
"Vibe Coding in the Kitchen" from Jamison Bryant - How I used Agentic AI to build a recipe site from scratch.
"Agentic Coding in Practice" from Eric Sauter - AI powered agentic coding tools are transforming how we write software by helping with scaffolding, debugging, and even autonomous refactoring. But without the right practices they can generate untrustworthy or low quality code. This talk explores how to make agentic tools work for you by designing workflows that maximize productivity, setting up effective guardrails, and maintaining code quality and security. Learn about practical strategies for integrating AI into your development process while getting the benefits of speed and creativity and preserving trust in the code you ship
"From Chat to Agents: Connecting AI Models to the Real World with TypeScript” from Eli Oshinsky - Coding agents have come a long way from the simple ChatGPT capabilities of a year ago and it is now trivial to connect a model to anything with an API. The problem is that large JSON blobs and the traditional REST architecture are not well aligned with the capabilities of LLMs. We’ll explore today’s models strengths and weaknesses and how to build tools that leverage the model’s strengths while filling in its weaknesses using the TypeScript MCP SDK and the Vercel AI SDK. To top it off we’ll make our agent available as a tool in Claude code so that it can be used from anywhere.
That's a whole lot of AI talks and it's a fraught subject, so after the talks are done we encourage you to join us in the bar for drinks, socialization, and loads of AI tricks, tips, and rancorous debate.
