Women Reimagining Innovation – Africa & ME Edition
Across Africa and the Middle East, women are pioneering innovations that bring affordable diagnostics to underserved regions, harness the sun to preserve food, and protect harvests to feed communities. Women Reimagining Innovation is an ecosystem-building gathering to learn, connect, and collaborate with founders reshaping health, food, climate, and inclusion.
Co-hosted by Impact Hub, Bayer Foundation, and The Bloom, this global spotlight series spans three regions — Latin America, Africa & the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific — featuring awardees from the Bayer Foundation Women Entrepreneurs Award (WEA).
The Africa & the Middle East Edition features five awardees:
Salma Tammam (Egypt) – making reliable, affordable diagnostic kits accessible for low-resource settings with Reme-D.
Alaa Salih Hamadto (Sudan) – reducing post-harvest losses with solar drying and clean-tech food processing through Solar Foods.
Faith Koki (Kenya) – protecting grain harvests and food security with solar-powered, IoT-enabled silos at Silo Africa Networks.
Anaporka Adazabra (Ghana) – empowering smallholder farmers with smart greenhouses and precision farming tools through Farmio Limited.
Chiedza Mushawedu (Zimbabwe) – delivering 24-hour mobile healthcare to rural communities with ZimbosAbantu Healthcare on Wheels.
