this startup gathering is designed to install a global mindset for founders and innovators building the next generation of companies.
Innovation leaders from around the world — including Stanford University, OpenAI, and leading international venture capital firms — will gather in Tokyo.
Founders, investors, researchers, and policymakers will come together to explore the future of Japanese startups through the lens of Silicon Valley and discuss how Japan’s startup ecosystem can connect more deeply with global innovation.
Through new conversations and meaningful connections, the event aims to spark the next wave of global collaboration and entrepreneurship.

Dr. Richard Dasher is a leading expert on innovation ecosystems and Silicon Valley at Stanford University.
Dr. Richard Dasher is an Adjunct Professor at Stanford University and Director of the US-Asia Technology Management Center, a position he has held since 1994. He also served as Executive Director of Stanford’s Center for Integrated Systems from 1998 to 2015.
Dr. Richard Dasherは、スタンフォード大学においてイノベーションエコシステムとシリコンバレー研究の第一人者です。
リチャード・ダッシャー博士は、スタンフォード大学特任教授であり、US-Asia Technology Management Center（アジア・米国技術経営研究センター）所長を1994年より務めています。また、スタンフォード大学集積システム研究センター（Center for Integrated Systems）のExecutive Directorを1998年から2015年まで兼務しました。
研究・教育の主な対象は、イノベーションシステム、新技術が産業バリューチェーンに与える影響、オープンイノベーション・マネジメントです。日本との関係も深く、東北大学理事および経営協議会委員（2004–2010年）、世界トップレベル研究拠点プログラム（WPI）委員会メンバー、日米イノベーション・アワード実行委員会会長を歴任。さらに、タイ国立科学技術研究所やWorld Sustainable Development Forumなどの研究機関や科学技術プログラムの顧問を務めるほか、シリコンバレー、日本、韓国、カナダなどでスタートアップ、ベンチャーキャピタル、アクセラレーターのアドバイザーとしても活動しています。

John Whaley is a serial entrepreneur and AI expert. He previously founded cybersecurity startups including Moka5 and UnifyID (acquired by Prove) and now leads Inception Studio, an accelerator supporting AI founders building global companies.
John Whaleyは、AIおよびサイバーセキュリティ分野で活躍する連続起業家です。Moka5やUnifyID（後にProveに買収）などのスタートアップを創業。現在はAI起業家を支援するアクセラレーター「Inception Studio」を率い、グローバルに挑戦するAIスタートアップの育成に取り組んでいます。
Megan Ruan

Megan Ruan is Head of International Partnerships at Replit, where she leads global ecosystem growth to drive adoption of Replit’s AI-powered coding platform across enterprises and consumers. Previously, she co-founded and led Gold House Ventures, a seed-stage fund investing in software and AI companies founded by Asian Pacific entrepreneurs. Before that, Megan managed the global venture portfolio for the Johnson & Johnson family office. She began her career at Morgan Stanley and holds a BA from Yale University and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Megan RuanはReplitのHead of International Partnershipsとして、同社のAIコーディングプラットフォームの普及を目的に、グローバルなエコシステム拡大とパートナーシップ戦略をリードしています。以前はGold House Venturesを共同創業し、アジア太平洋系の起業家によるソフトウェア・AIスタートアップに投資するシードステージファンドを率いていました。それ以前にはJohnson & Johnsonのファミリーオフィスにてグローバルなベンチャーポートフォリオの運用を担当、キャリアの初期はMorgan Stanleyでスタート。Yale Universityで学士号、Stanford Graduate School of BusinessでMBAを取得しています。

Steven joins Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India as a consultant on investments in Japanese startups in 2023 while managing his own seed VC fund, which he established back in 2019. Steven has over 12 years of venture investing experience in Indonesia, with a track record of 6 successful exits, including 2 unicorns in the South East Asian market. Prior to starting his fund, he was an Executive Director at CyberAgent Capital Indonesia from 2011 to 2019.
