MotelX 🎬 The Home (Close ceremony)
Forget the usual streaming platforms or the well-known cinemas — this September, we’re going to watch films you’d never find there. MOTELX brings together horror, thrillers, and hidden gems from all around the world, and we’ll be there to enjoy them together as a group.
I’ve been joining this festival for more than seven years, religiously — and in my honest opinion, it’s the most exciting cultural event happening in Lisbon.
Not really into horror? Don’t worry — many of the films are more thriller, suspense, or even comedy. There’s truly something for everyone.

⏰ Seats are not assigned — it’s extremely recommended to arrive at least 30 minutes earlier to join the line and get a decent spot. This is even more important if the session is in Room 3, which is smaller and has only a few good seats.

📖 Synopsis
After an encounter with the law, Max is sentenced to community service at a retirement home for the elderly. Instructed to stay away from the fourth floor—where residents in need of “special care” reside—the young man begins to realize that both the staff and the elderly harbor unimaginable secrets, possibly linked to his own past. From the director of The Purge franchise and producers of the new Halloween saga, comes a tale of horror about millennial discontent, culminating in a feast of viscera and plasma, with jump scares as the main course. Pete Davidson, former SNL alumnus, stars in his first dramatic role.
