Out in Tech x Austin Front Runners: LGBTQ+ Walk & Talk
We’re teaming up with Austin Front Runners for a special edition of our monthly Out in Tech Austin hang.
Join us for a casual, social 2.5-mile walk along Town Lake, followed by drinks and hangs at Cheer Up Charlies.
Plan:
5:50pm – Meet at The Rock at Town Lake
6:00pm – Start the walk
~7:00pm – Arrive at Cheer Up Charlies
7:00–9:00pm – Hang, chat, grab drinks
This is our first time collaborating with Austin Front Runners, a long-running LGBTQ+ run club in Austin that typically meets at the same spot at 6pm. If you’re into running, definitely check them out, they’re a super welcoming crew.
We’re switching things up this month. Instead of meeting at Cheer Up Charlies, we’ll start at the lake, walk (or run) together, and end there for drinks and hangs. Feel free to meet us at Cheer Ups and skip the walk. Or come to the walk and skip the hang.
Come solo or bring a friend. All paces, backgrounds, and identities welcome 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
We are going to have some routes planned for runners that want to go a longer distance (3, 4, and 5 mile loops that will end at Cheer Ups).
Parking is available in the area near our meeting location at The Rock. The shaded area on the map shows recommended parking zones along the streets near the Mopac pedestrian bridge. Please check signs for information on metered parking.

Arrive 10-15 minutes early to find parking and locate the group
The parking is metered in the shaded areas
Consider carpooling or biking to the run location
We will have some cars available for carpooling back to the meeting point after the mixer.
