Deep Research and Agentic Search
In this talk, we will focus on deep research and agentic search systems. The objective is pragmatic: to explore how such systems can be designed and implemented. We will discuss their potential value for modern search engines in enhancing customer experience, outline approaches for building them, and present common design patterns along with relevant open-source software and models. Finally, we will address the challenge of evaluation, since this new functionality requires different methods of assessment compared to traditional search systems.

Dr. Andrei Lopatenko is a technology executive and innovator with nearly two decades of experience in search, recommendations, and large-scale AI/ML systems. He has built and led teams at Google, Apple, Walmart, eBay, and Zillow, shaping products used by billions of people worldwide.
Alongside his work at major enterprises, Dr. Lopatenko has also driven innovation in startups. At Ozlo (acquired by Facebook), he helped pioneer conversational AI, and today at Neuron7, he leads the development of AI-powered enterprise service intelligence, bringing advanced machine learning into real-world business applications.
He earned his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Manchester, and is recognized as both a deep technologist and executive leader, bridging research with large-scale systems to create technologies that empower users.
