What is Polkadot?

Polkadot is a layer-0 blockchain protocol designed to connect and secure multiple layer-1 blockchains. It allows different blockchains to work together while sharing security. Developers use Polkadot to build scalable and interoperable applications through its modular framework, cross-chain communication (XCM), and powerful tools like the Polkadot SDK. It’s especially suited for projects that require custom blockchains, smart contracts, or cross-chain features.
