即便当代社会一再鼓吹“做自己”，但当我们真正穿上不合主流的服饰、释放异于常规的气质时，迎接我们的往往是凝视、误解与规训——甚至是那句熟悉的否定：“你这样太奇怪了。” 服装不再只是外壳，而成为社会对“异类”的靶向化符码。
正是这些“过于张扬”“不够正常”的服装与风格，构成了我们走向自我、抵抗标准化、夺回身体与表达权的方式。穿衣不只是穿衣，而是一种姿态，一种反魔法的魔法。

“The witch” has never been a symbol buried in history, but a mechanism of stigma continually reproduced in different contexts. In every era, the witch is dressed in new clothes, marking women and communities deemed “out of place.”
Even today, though society repeats the mantra of “being yourself,” when we wear clothes that diverge from the mainstream or express unconventional energies, we often encounter gazes, misunderstandings, and discipline—even the familiar dismissal: “You look too strange.” Clothing becomes more than an outfit; it becomes the coded target of social regulation.
It is precisely these “too much,” “not normal enough” styles that open pathways to selfhood, resist standardization, and reclaim the right to body and expression. Dressing is never just dressing—it is a gesture, a counter-magic.

About the Host
Dottie Guo is a New York–based multimedia artist and tarot practitioner. As an enthusiast who has engaged with Lolita culture for over a decade, she sees Lolita not merely as a style but as a form of adolescent heroism—an attitude of “choosing what to wear in order to become oneself.” For Dottie, clothing and art are vital modes of self-expression, and she continuously explores movement and transformation across different media. Her practice is rooted in cultural expression, aesthetic inquiry, magical practice, and an attentiveness to both body and spirit.
