From Moonshots to Earthshots: How Lessons Learned in Space Can Help Us Here on Earth
Innovate Pasadena is launching a new regular meetup: Pasadena Climate Commons.
This series is focused on deep technical conversations about climate, engineering, and systems-level solutions. This event is our very first gathering, and we’d be grateful if you could join us and help support the start of this community. The history of human spaceflight is a story of tackling problems so complex they once seemed impossible to solve.
From Moonshots to Earthshots: How Lessons Learned in Space Can Help Us Here on Earth
In this talk, Kathryn Crowe, an experienced human spaceflight systems developer and engineering/project manager, will share how NASA approaches high-stakes, highly uncertain challenges — and how those same methods can be applied to climate solutions here on Earth.
During her career at NASA, Kathryn worked on architecting large-scale technical systems, driving innovation in uncertain conditions, and bringing together diverse teams to solve problems where failure was not an option. Now, she is applying that same systems thinking, program management rigor, and collaborative problem-solving mindset to the fight against climate change.
