ISC2 Silicon Valley - May 2026 Chapter Meeting
📣 Heads up — this month's meeting is on Zoom due to a scheduling conflict at our usual venue. Registrants will receive the link ahead of the event.
⚠️ Please do not plan to attend in person — this is a virtual meeting online.
Join the ISC2 Silicon Valley Chapter for our May 2026 meeting. As attackers move faster and signatures fall behind, defenders are rethinking what "detection" really means. This month, we're digging into the shift toward behavioral approaches — what works, what breaks, and what it takes to operate at scale.
🎤 Opening Session | Using Behavioral Baselines Effectively in Threat Detections
Anders Holden, Co-founder & Chief Product Officer, IceGuard
Attackers increasingly rely on living-off-the-land techniques and frequently rotated IOCs, making traditional signature-based detection less effective. To keep up, defenders must shift toward behavioral detection — but behavioral detection is harder to build and maintain, and without the right tools and techniques the cost and complexity quickly become unmanageable.
This talk gives practical guidance for building, maintaining, and incorporating behavioral baselines into your detection strategy. Drawing on work at IceGuard, Anders explores where and when to use behavioral baselines, how they reduce noise and manual tuning, and how to manage them at scale.
