About Event

Please come to the Interact Studio on the night of August 20, 2026, for a special rendition of Symphony No. 40 in G minor by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Romeo and Juliet by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, performed entirely by synchronized personal laptops.

Formal evening wear is required for this event. Please come dressed as you would for a concert.

The two pieces will be separated by an intermission. Drinks and light refreshments will be served (cheeses and wine).

About the Orchestra

The Interact Laptop Orchestra is an experiment in distributed sound: each laptop performs a different orchestral part, while all devices share the same musical timeline. Individual devices are placed deliberately around the room in orchestral placement to simulate the spatial sound profile of a real orchestra.

The orchestra is powered by beatsync.gg, open-source software I made for millisecond-accurate, synchronized audio playback across devices. The performance uses multitrack orchestral recordings from The Spheres Dataset (Garcia-Martinez et al., 2025), which provides separately recorded instrumental parts from Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 and Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet.

For this event, I will need to borrow ~20-40 MacBooks from the community for the night :)
