APSA FTS 28: Remember My Name
Join APSA for our 27th Annual Fashion Talent Show (FTS) on Saturday, April 18th, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM in Montezuma Hall at San Diego State University. FTS serves as APSA's way to bring our community together and showcase the many talents of the AAPI community. Through different performances of music, dance, fashion, and more, we celebrate our culture, experiences, and overall community.
Each year, our coordinators choose a theme for the event to serve as a message for the community. This year’s theme builds upon the spirit of past shows by focusing on visibility as a form of resistance and honoring our cultural roots. When the world feels unstable, we return to what connects us. Our roots run deeper than borders. Our stories stretch across generations, oceans, and languages. “Remember My Name” recognizes the strength, resilience, and pride within the AAPI community and the immigrants in it by emphasizing the power of returning to what grounds us—our heritage, our stories, and our communities. It’s a reminder that to be visible is to resist. This year, we reflect on the strength found in returning to our roots. We seek to understand where we came from and carry that legacy forward. From the pain of diaspora to the warmth of community, we are still here. This is not just a cultural showcase. It’s a call to remember, to honor, and to reclaim.
