

Water, Power, and the Carbon Politics of Computing
Join us for Week 4 of the Fall 2025 AI Policy Reading Group. This session will explore the environmental and resource implications of artificial intelligence, including energy use, water consumption, and the carbon footprint of AI infrastructure. Participants will engage in interactive activities and discussions to examine the challenges of “green AI” and the role of policy in promoting sustainable computing.

Participants are encouraged to review the session plan for primers, core readings, and discussion questions on AI sustainability, emissions responsibility, and public funding standards.
No prior experience with AI or environmental policy is required. The session is designed to be accessible, interactive, and thought-provoking for all participants.
