​Our special guest is Aaron Fitzgerald, CEO & Co-Founder of Mars Materials, a company producing carbon-negative acrylonitrile, the molecule behind carbon fiber and the water-soluble polymers used in wastewater treatment and paper and pulp manufacturing. Mars Materials commercializes NREL-developed process technology and is backed by Breakthrough Energy Fellows.

​Aaron is joining us straight off the company's biggest milestone yet. It follows two industry-first validations: its acrylonitrile validated by the global market leader in polyacrylamide, and its Hoigen-C precursor validated with North Carolina State University's textile innovation team for carbon fiber manufacturing with no loss of quality. Next up: scaling production and helping bring carbon fiber manufacturing back to the U.S. for aerospace, defense, and infrastructure.
