Art Fundraiser for LGTBQ+ Refugees in South Sudan
This Black History Month, we’re running a month-long fundraiser for the folks at Gorum Refugee Camp: LGBTQ+ refugees from all over East Africa who are facing harrowing circumstances. With little to no support, they continue to face the same discrimination, brutality, and poverty they were seeking refuge from in the first place. This year brings hope, as community members prepare to escape for asylum in other countries. However, the threat of the South Sudanese government looms, with plans to force this community out of the refugee camp and onto the streets.
So, let's do something about it!
Join us for a fundraiser night ft. an open mic, board games, a DJ, art services, and lots of chances to make friends! Donate to enter a raffle for themed bundles and free creative services volunteered and donated by Boston community members.
Note: Masks are required and will be provided.
In the meantime, donate to our month-long online fundraiser and participate in an auction for more artsy prizes!
Volunteer!
Want to make art for a good cause? We are looking for artists to volunteer their time and art to the in-person and/or online half of this fundraiser! Sign up here by February 15th.
