​가우디는 깨진 타일과 다시 쓴 재료로 작업했고, 아무도 지속가능성이라는 말을 쓰지 않던 시절에 빛과 환기를 위해 설계했으며, 자신이 완성을 보지 못할 것을 알면서 마지막 나날을 한 건물에 바쳤습니다. 시간을 위해 디자인한다는 것이 실제로 무엇을 뜻하는지, 그리고 그의 방식이 지금 무언가를 만드는 사람들에게 무엇을 말해주는지 살펴봅니다.

​About us

​소피아 아브람추크(Sofya Abramchuk)는 바르셀로나 가우디 재단에서 8년간 디자인 총괄로 일하며, 가우디의 노트와 편지, 실험 모형 등 재단의 아카이브를 직접 다루었습니다. 현재 신사하우스에서 열리고 있는 전시 〈Gaudí: Back to the Origins〉의 큐레이터이자, 가우디 재단의 교육 파트너인 Originate Institute의 창립자입니다.

​그 연구를 바탕으로 그는 Origin8 방법론을 개발했습니다. 독창성은 근원으로 돌아가는 데 있다는 가우디 자신의 원칙 위에 세워진 방법론입니다. 도쿄 게이오대학교와 이곳 서울의 중앙대학교, 그리고 파리의 유럽 패션 하우스 스튜디오에서 이 방법론을 가르쳐 왔으며, 유럽과 아시아의 디자인 콘퍼런스에서 강연해 왔습니다. 사그라다 파밀리아 탑 완공 당시 BBC News에 출연했고, 가우디 100주년을 맞아 일본과 오스트리아 방송과 인터뷰했습니다.

​About the lecture series

​신사하우스의 〈Gaudí: Back to the Origins〉는 가우디의 삶과 작업을 들여다보고, 잠시나마 스스로 가우디가 되어볼 수 있는 인터랙티브하고 몰입감 있는 전시입니다. 하지만 전시가 보여줄 수 있는 것에는 한계가 있고, 저희는 누구나 그가 생각했던 방식으로 더 깊이 들어가 보고, 그가 우리에게 주는 영감을 따라가 볼 기회를 가져야 한다고 믿습니다.

​이 렉처 시리즈에서는 가우디의 근원에서 출발해 그의 디자인 철학, 다른 문화와 역사에서 받은 영감, 그리고 그의 작업에 담긴 지속가능성까지 살펴봅니다. 한 회만 들으셔도 좋고, 네 번 모두 들으시면 100,000원입니다.

​디자인이나 창작 경험은 전혀 필요하지 않습니다. 그리고 이미 그 일을 하고 계신 분들에게도 분명히 새롭게 보이는 것이 있을 것입니다.

​Lecture series: Gaudí and sustainability

​How do you design something that will still matter in a hundred years?

​Gaudí worked with broken tiles and reused materials, designed for light and ventilation long before anyone called it sustainability, and gave his last years to a building he knew he would not see finished. We will look at what designing for time actually means, and what his way of working has to say to anyone making things today.

​About us

​Sofya Abramchuk spent 8 years at the Gaudí Foundation in Barcelona as head of design, working directly with the archives: Gaudí's notebooks, letters and experimental models. She is the curator of Gaudí: Back to the Origins, the exhibition now at Sinsa House, and the founder of Originate Institute, the Foundation's educational partner.

​From that research she developed the Origin8 method, built on Gaudí's own principle that originality consists in returning to the origin. She has taught it at Keio University in Tokyo, at Chung-Ang University here in Seoul, and inside the studios of European fashion houses in Paris, and she has spoken at design conferences across Europe and Asia. She appeared on BBC News on the completion of the Sagrada Família tower and has been interviewed on Japanese and Austrian television during the Gaudí centenary.

​About the lecture series

​Gaudí: Back to the Origins at Sinsa House is an interactive and immersive experience that lets you get a glimpse into Gaudí's life and work, and try to be Gaudí yourself for a short amount of time. But an exhibition can only show you so much, and we believe that everyone should have the chance to dive deeper into the way he thought, and to follow the inspiration he gives us.

​In this lecture series we will explore Gaudí's origins, but also his design philosophy, how he was inspired by other cultures and history, and the sustainability behind his work. Come to one, or come to all four for 100,000 KRW.

​You don't need any design or creativity experience, but even creatives and designers will find these eye-opening.
