Decarbonising Transport Systems
Host: UK PACT and Arup
Language: English and Thai
Rapid urbanization, traffic congestion, and air pollution are Bangkok significant challenges. To address this issue systematically, the city must systematically invest in accessible, effective and affordable public transportation solutions. Enhancing urban sustainability requires not only expanding mass transit infrastructure but also promoting multimodal connectivity, reducing dependence of cars and encouraging first and last mile transport like bus feeder systems, or micromobility.
In this session, Arup will draw on its global experience in transport policy and planning, together with Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning, Ministry of Transport, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, C40 Cities and Breathe Cities to discuss innovative approaches, policy frameworks, and implementation pathways that support low-carbon mobility, with a particular focus on urban transport systems reflecting global experience to local solutions.
