Oceania: Journey to the Center is a 75‑minute award‑winning documentary following Kiribati elder Tekinati Ruka on a journey through her people’s history, resilience, and the climate realities they face. The film, shot over 10 years by Natalie Zimmerman, has won the Best International Feature, Best Female Director, Wild Woman Award, and Cinemare Ocean Conservation Award.
This screening is part of the Global Climate Action Forum’s initiative to raise awareness and inspire positive change through film. Attendance supports the next phase of climate resilience projects and the film’s impact work that launches with the Australian Premiere at the Wild Earth Oceania Film Festival - part of the Pacific Impact Tour, with proceeds supporting Tekinati’s August impact trip to Australia.
