Join us for our Women Doing Cool $h!t panel, moderated by Sabahat Naureen, Toast Community Manager. 🍞
There are some incredible, trailblazing women in Calgary doing incredible things like launching businesses, changing lives, making an impact. Join us for an intimate fireside chat where we invite two brilliant women who will tell us what it takes to do cool $h!t.
This month’s Women Doing Cool $h!t panel brings together Saba El-Hilo and Lara Murphy, two dynamic leaders driving growth, opportunity, and impact.
Lara Murphy is the inaugural CEO of Calgary Wild FC and founder of Ryan Murphy Construction, Calgary’s only female-owned commercial construction firm. A former varsity and professional soccer player, she now leads Alberta’s first professional women’s soccer team while also delivering multi-million-dollar commercial projects through her construction company.
Across sport and business, Lara is known for breaking barriers, championing inclusive leadership, and building spaces, and teams, where people thrive. A dedicated community advocate and mentor, she was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal in 2022 for her contributions to equity and entrepreneurship.
Saba El-Hilo is the CTO of Certn, with over a decade of experience across firms like Hootsuite, Etsy, Mapbox, Unbounce, and Neo Financial. In 2013, she founded “Girl Development,” a Vancouver‑based meetup empowering women technologists. She is also a featured speaker on AI, data infrastructure, and engineering performance at industry conferences, where she helps shape the national conversation on tech maturity.
Moderated by Sabahat Naureen, the Toast Community Manager and experienced podcast host, so you know it's going to be a GOOD one.
