βπ What is RIVERBANKS?
ββ What if our most modern banks were owned by our most ancestral rivers?
βRIVERBANKS is an open climate fiction initiative exploring the idea of ecoarchic, or nature-first, institutions, where nature is not just a resource or a stakeholder, but the boss.
βSpecifically the project imagines river-banks, or banks that are owned by and thus work for rivers (however / whoever we might imagine rivers and their interests).
βWhat would these banks' missions and mandates be?
βHow would they organize?
βWhat instruments and technologies would they employ?
βWhat kinds of societies would they seek to infrastructure?
βRIVERBANKS will culminate in an exhibition and symposium this October at Bangkok Climate Action Week.
βInterested? Check out (and maybe join) our RIVERBANKS PLAYSHOP this coming Sep 5 by the Chao Phraya River (in Bangkok, not far from the oldest riverside bank!)
