Come hear from Lance Weiler and Chandler Wild in an evening of conversation about their pieces, Error Becomes Form and 426, as well as the role of AI and emerging technologies in their art and filmmaking practices.
Lance Weiler (aka culturehacker) is a storyteller, emerging media artist, entrepreneur, and thought leader working in film, theatre, games, and code. An alumnus of the Sundance Screenwriters Lab, Lance is recognized as a pioneer because of the way he mixes storytelling and technology. For over 20 years he's been innovating at the forefront of entertainment – leading the industry into the digital age. He's a Professor of Professional Practice at Columbia University where he also founded the school's Digital Storytelling Lab.
Chandler Wild is a director, writer, editor, and producer based in New York City whose work ranges from scripted fiction, feature documentaries, and branded content. His scripts have placed in the Austin Film Festival and he's a 2024 Stowe Storylabs Producing Fellow. His feature documentary, "Mount Lawrence" tracked his 6,708 mile journey by bicycle to Alaska and played in festivals throughout the country. His debut feature The Dancing Monkey was released in the summer of 2024 after a festival run. He is the co-founder of All The Way Around Productions.
5x5 Collective is a new project aimed at supporting artists and makers across media and disciplinary boundaries. In an age of big shifts, we need to re-imagine ways of seeing, being, and doing. 5x5 aims to help with that re-imagination through events like this one, making art and other works, and investing in builders with unique visions.
