From ETH to SF: Building Companies, Backing Founders
A fireside chat with Erasmus Elsner & Antti Karjalainen, hosted by ETH Center for Law & Economics in collaboration with S2S Ventures at the ETH AI Center.
Two founders who took very different routes out of the ETH/European tech ecosystem. Erasmus, an ETH Zürich PhD, Co-founder, President at Inference Capital and founder of Sand Hill Road, a maker studio for early-stage startups in SF; and Antti, who built and exited the open-source automation startup Robocorp into Sema4.ai and Co-founder, CEO at Inference Capital. Sit down to talk about what it actually takes to build a company and what they both look for when backing them as angel investors.
Agenda
Fireside chat: from ETH research/first ventures to building and exiting companies, life between Zürich, Helsinki, and San Francisco
Perspective shift to angel investing: what they look for in European startups, what they expect from founders
Open Q&A + networking
