​About the session

​Collective Footnotes is our new monthly reading series by offDAC + Institute of Machine Unlearning

​Collective Footnotes is an attempt at a book club, and an attempt to unlearn book clubs at the same time. Also a gentle way of holding ourselves accountable to the reading lists that keep growing faster than we can finish them.

​We'll meet online once a month to slowly work our way through books, essays, articles and open tabs that have been patiently waiting on our reading lists, to expand the ways we can practice reading otherwise, by following tensions, rabbit holes and connections that emerge between the lines.

​For our first session we'll be reading Posthuman Ethics for AI by Rosi Braidotti and asking questions such as:
→ Who gets to define what counts as human?
→ What happens when difference becomes noise?
→ What cannot be translated into a dataset?
