Trash to Treasure Art Exhibition
You are warmly invited to the launch of an art exhibition called Trash to Treasure at The Commons, 5th June 6-8pm to coincide with World Environmental Day.
Trash to Treasure is a community art initiative by artists and artmakers in the Muizenberg and Vrygrond communities. It is both a physical and online exhibition.
The event will also launch the ‘world premiere’ of the Berg Waste and Recycling Collective animation video, Message in a Bottle conceived by the collective and created by Chloé van Wyk.
The event will also feature a performance by acclaimed musician, Pedro Espri-Sanchez who will share with us how he uses waste material to make music.
In addition, the Berg Waste and Recycling Collective will also launch its website which includes the activities of the Marine Estate Connected Community (supported by the Greenpill Cape Town chapter). Among these activities is an exciting community initiative called GroFree in association with the BacktoLand Campaign in Vrygrond that repurposes garden and organic waste into compost and mulch.
