3 Questions About the Sea Eating the River - Screening + Discussion
Join us on Friday, August 7th at 6pm for a screening of 3 Questions About the Sea Eating the River, an ethnographic short film about the colonial legacies of infrastructural violence destroying the Indus River Delta. About the film: On the coast of Sindh, Pakistan, a sacred river is cannibalized by the sea. Guided by a fishing community in the Indus River Delta, three friends trace the shrinkages and ruptures of a dying ecology. As they journey upstream a dismembered river, a haunting ensues, a colonial past looms. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the director, Aiman Rizvi, and Producers Ali Samoo & Fizza Qureshi - all of whom work on issues of ecological rights in Pakistan across academia, journalism and climate advocacy. The discussion will be moderated by Kaleemullah Bashir.
